Greetings! My name is John Kovach. For the past 32 years I have been involved with coaching baseball from instructional to elite on the local, national and international levels of play. I currently serve as the pitching coach for Holy Cross College in Notre Dame, Indiana.
I am the Archivist (historian) at Saint Mary's College. Over the past 15 years, I authored four books on local and national (men, women and girls) baseball history and written numerous articles on each as well. During the past seven years, I have worked as an advocate for girls and women who have been denied the chance to play baseball on various levels and consulted on nearly 50 cases providing background information which has been utilized to open the baseball doors for those players.
In 2007, I helped to co-write the Position Paper on the differences of baseball and softball for the Women's Sports Foundation.
During the past five years, I have been privileged to serve as a coach for various elite girls baseball teams managed and organized by Justine Siegal, founder of the organization, Baseball For All. As a former high school baseball player and ex-minor league coach (as well as current collegiate assistant baseball coach), Justine continues to open many doors for girls who want to play baseball (on all levels) with new programs every year.
